Arctic Discovery follows a lost traveler on the brink of giving up in a vast, unforgiving Arctic landscape. In a surreal turn, he realizes that he has somehow made his way back home. The piece was designed as a cinematic 3D storytelling exercise focused on atmosphere, emotion, environment, and visual narrative.
I developed the concept and directed the visual approach from the ground up. I designed the 3D environment in Blender, bringing together the surrounding mountain landscape, snowy materials, lighting, and environmental details.
I handled the camera direction in 3D, using movement and composition to establish the scale and isolation of the environment while guiding the viewer through the story reveal. I also developed the materials and textures to create a cold, painterly Arctic environment and used the aurora borealis lighting to reinforce the emotional progression of the scene.
Beyond the 3D work, I handled compositing, editing, color, and final rendering. This allowed me to control the entire visual experience rather than treating the 3D render as an isolated asset.
